About Neurology

The Department of Neurology of ManglamPlus Medicity has neurologists who are trained to investigate, diagnose and treat neurological disorders. We have experienced doctors who treat a range of neurologic conditions, including stroke, seizures, movement disorders to autoimmune neurologic disorders such as multiple sclerosis. They are also involved in clinical research, clinical trials, and fundamental research.

The department has experts of neurology who examine patients comprehensively. For them, patient care is at the core of their philosophy. This is done by taking a comprehensive medical history, and then performing a physical examination which evaluates the nervous system. Some of the commonly encountered conditions treated by our neurologists include headaches, radiculopathy, neuropathy, stroke, dementia, seizures and epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, Parkinson's disease, Tourette's syndrome, multiple sclerosis, head trauma, sleep disorders, neuromuscular diseases, and various infections and tumours of the nervous system.

The rooms are spacious, and equipped with intercranial pressure monitors (ICP) which enable doctors and nurses to watch and respond to the health needs of neurosurgery and neurology patients. Treatment options provided by our neurologists vary depending on the neurological problem. They can include counselling, prescribing medications, or recommending a surgical procedure. Some of our neurologists specialize in treating certain parts of the nervous system and in specific procedures. For example, our clinical neurophysiologists specialize in the use of EEG and intraoperative monitoring to diagnose certain neurological disorders while other neurologists specialize in the use of electrodiagnostic medicine studies. Working in laboratories, our neurological specialists perform clinical and laboratory experiments and tests to learn more about the patients’ nervous system and find out cures and new treatments for diseases and disorders.
